About Consensus Shopper
We started Consensus Shopper because buying almost anything now means reading ten reviews that disagree. We read the professional reviews for you and show where they agree, where they don't, and why, with every source linked.
What we do
- Collect reviews from professional publications and a short, hand-checked list of independent testers (2,233 reviews so far).
- Turn each verdict into a 0–100 score, mark the ones we had to estimate, and average them. The full method is on How we score.
- Show the spread: how far apart the critics are, and what they praise and dislike most.
What we don't do
- We don't test products ourselves, and we never claim to.
- We don't count customer reviews, shop reviews, sponsored posts or manufacturer content.
- We don't accept payment for coverage or placement. Store commissions never change a score.
How the work is done
Finding reviews, reading them and checking them is done with software, including AI models that read each review and record its verdict. Every rule the software follows is on How we score, every score links to its sources, and mistakes are fixed and listed on the corrections page.
